I AM that I AM

Yeshayahu 48:12

The Tetragrammaton is thought by many to based on “hayah asher hayah” as in Shemoth3:14
Most often, as shown below, this is translated as “I AM that I AM.”

Shemoth(Exodus)3:14

Though some have claimed that it should say “I WILL BE what I WILL BE.”
Strong’s definition of H1961 Hayah is as follows.

A primitive root (compare H1933); to exist, that is, be or become, come to pass (always emphatic,
and not a mere copula or auxiliary): - beacon, X altogether, be (-come, accomplished, committed, like),
break, cause, come (to pass), continue, do, faint, fall, + follow, happen, X have, last, pertain,
quit (one-) self, require, X use.

BDB Definition is as follows:

1) to be, become, come to pass, exist, happen, fall out
1a) (Qal)

Fairly simply then we can see that “I AM that I AM” or “I WILL BE what I WILL BE”
could both fit. However we would not call someone else “I AM” or “I WILL BE.”
When talking of another we would have to say “HE IS” or “HE WILL BE”
So it would seem that when YHWH in Hebrew font stated this, He was describing who He was,
rather than stating His Name. In other places in Scripture where it reads “I am”, it
most often reads “ I am He”. Some examples are listed below.
YeshaYahu (Isaiah)43:10
You are My witnesses, says YHWH in Hebrew font; and My servant whom I have elected; that you may know
and believe Me, and understand that I am He. Before Me there was no El formed; nor shall
any be after Me.

YeshaYahu (Isaiah)43:13
Yea, from this day I am He, and no one delivers from My hand. I will work,
and who will reverse it?

YeshaYahu (Isaiah)43:25
I, even I, am He who blots out your trespasses for My sake; and I will not remember your sins.

Debarim(Deuteronomy)32:39
See now that I, I am He, and there is no other El with Me. I kill, and I keep alive. I wound and
I heal, and there is no deliverer from My hand.

In all of the above examples you will see that the word “am” is in italics, indicating that the word
did not exisit in the Hebrew. It is inserted by translators to make grammatical sense in English.
The Hebrew reads ‘I He”
an-ee'(I) and
hû' (he) the Strong’s references are as below.

H589
an-ee'Contracted from H595; I: - I, (as for) me, mine,

(where H589 is not used it is H595 as below)
H595
aw-no-kee' A primitive pronoun; I: - I, me, X which..

(and ‘He” is as follows)
H1931
hoo, he -
The second form is the feminine beyond the Pentateuch; a primitive word, the third person
pronoun singular, he (she or it); only expressed when emphatic or without a verb; also (intensively)
self, or (especially with the article) the same; sometimes (as demonstrative) this or that; occasionally
(instead of copula) as or are: - he, as for her, him (-self), it, the same, she (herself), such,
that (. . . it), these, they, this, those, which (is), who.

So from this we see that the masculine form is “ hoo”, which as a transliteration into English says
the same as “ hu ”, which is contained in Yahuw?h. So “Hu” is “He”
The Hebrew spelling of “HU” is let us take a closer look at this word:-
Hu - hey-waw -alef pictographic hebrew

As we suggested earlier, only Yah Himself could say “ I AM” we would have to say
 “HE IS”.
We also can see clearly(behold), The Messiah, in the word pictures for “HE”, as
the First Born of many sons, and the Strong First Leader of His people Yisrael
rejoining Yisrael back to the covenant by being nailed to the stake.
Hallelu-Yahu !
HE IS and HE WILL BE.
Yeshayahe 55:11
