The Tetragrammaton has been variously interpreted by many believers; Jehovah, Yahweh, Yahuweh, Yahveh; Yahwah; Yahuwah, Yehowah and on it goes. Often this causes division- For this reason we have created this site to study and discuss THE NAME without prejudice or malice. It is written:- Tsephanyah (Zephaniah) 3:9 For then will I turn to the people a pure language, that they may all call upon the name of , to serve him with one consent.
We hope that this site will, in some small way, help us to all, come to one accord in calling on the Name of our Creator. Is it important that we do? We believe it is, consider the following two statements:-, (Matthew) 23:39 For I say unto you, Ye shall not see me henceforth, till ye shall say, Blessed is he that cometh in the name of
Yoel 2:32 For it shall be, all who shall call on the name of shall be saved. For salvation shall be in Mount Zion, and in Jerusalem, as has said, and among the survivors whom shall call.
Blessed is He that cometh in the name of ????Yahweh? Yahovah?Yahuwah? etc, etc. All who call on ??? Yahweh?Yahuwah? Yahveh? etc will be saved??? Yes we believe it is important. There can only be one way that would utter his own name. Just as you can see, from the font used for The Name in the Scripture quotes, as opposed to the font used in the paragraph above, the Hebrew written script has changed over time. The same holds true for the spoken Hebrew language, subtle and not so subtle changes have occured over time. This has happened with all languages, and the Greek language is no different. Greek has evolved over time and this can cause some confusion with many dialectal variations.
As “was”, long before any man spoke any language, what we need to be looking for is, the way it would have been spoken in the earliest times.
The Tetragrammaton raises many questions, with so many things to consider it would be easy to run off at long tangents, . So rather than write one long article, we have chosen to approach the discussion by covering the subject in smaller sections.
The Tetragrammaton has been represented on this site using a variety of fonts, in picture form, for convenience of those who do not have the Hebrew fonts on their system. Most of the fonts used are available from the Research Center link below.

Please note that we are not Hebrew scholars and our simplistic approach may offend some who are. That said we make no apology for this. Many hours of research, study and prayer have gone into the creation of this site. We have only one aim and that is to help bring us all closer to calling on Our Creator with one accord, in the manner that is most pleasing to Him. If you believe that we have missed some relevant point that can be substantiated we would be most pleased to hear from you.
